Mahant Smriti Saudagar is a monk from the Monastery of Medicine Mountian in Kushar. Her height and small stature mean that many tend to overlook and dismiss her. But she is well trained in both martial and diplomatic arts. She is the daughter of merchants with large family who she left when she was 16 to join the sisters. For 10 years at the monastery she studied and and learned the faith and ways of Boddoism. She found a home at the monastery, spent many happy hours in practice of the martial arts, and showed quite a aptitude for them. At one point she was called into the Grand-master’s study and sent out into the world. She was told that she was meant to leave the sisters for a time and make an impact on the world. That is when Smriti took the silk road out of town and began her journey that would take her further than she ever could have imagined. At one point in her journey she came across the lamp that would curse her to live out of her time, but allow her to become a part of this new journey. Smriti has a birthmark on her forearam of the triratna. She carries her Vajras as a constant link to her past and her faith, as well as potent weapons that have served her well.
Kumori is the direct line descendant of Minamoto Yoshitsune, the great hero of the Gempei War. On the day of his manhood ceremony, the shrine priest received a vision from Hachiman in which Kumori stood over the crumpled, headless body of the undead shogun Taira Kiyomori. On his nineteenth birthday, he left Kaidan in the company of his kinsmen hunting after the key to defeating the Taira bakufu. Somewhere along the way during their travels, one of his companions purchased the Lamp of Abu Al Mubarak in a marketplace in Bagharid on a lark, not realizing the impact it would have on their collective fate.
Kumori was dragged into the lamp during a battle with giants in the mountains of Marak-Dün whilst seeking clues in their quest. He spent a decade in the impossible palace, and returned to the world to find that a thousand years had passed. He has determined that his imprisonment in the lamp was the work of Fate, and that it transported him into the future for a reason.
Otos Fettas is a Ranger from Io. Tall Dark and Handsome. Otos is the outdoors type as all True Rangers are. He is Ionian after all. Dark black wavy hair, dark brown to light amber eyes, set on a wrestlers frame covered in muscles and sea beaten olive skin. He has a quick smile and a Sailors sense of humor, which if he is not careful, can get him into trouble. Otos is even tempered with a laid-back view on life. The exception to that rule is the existence of undead; they are an abomination to life and the gods. He is deeply religious and a strong follower of the Ionian Pantheon. He is constantly, when time permits, building small shrines to the appropriate deity in honor of a loss or victory. Otos is a worldly Man and a Sailor to boot, the old saying “a woman in every port “ could fit his free and open life style, but that would not do him justice. He cares about those he is with and as long as they were not married or a vestal virgin then the relation was holly, shared Solace and further education in the ways of love “Thank You Aphrodite”. Otos’s primary patrons are Poseidon, Airtimes, Vulcan, Haites and Aphrodite, but he dose not shirk his dew devotion to the rest of the pantheon.
Blue Beak is a Tengu, and an emissary from his all-powerful Daitengu, specifically raised, trained and sent to the Western world to aid Sonoda Kumori in his quest against the undead Emperor and to right the Wheel, returning balance to the world. He is a deadly serious creature, and his negotiating skills, as well as his position as Solicitor to his kind make him a formidable social contender. His skills at arms make him a contender on the battlefield as well.
When not dedicated to seriousness, Blue Beak spends his leisure time reading and writing poetry, and polishing his many trinkets and baubles collected in his travels over the years. He enjoys gambling and a nice warm cup (or three) of sake. He is grateful for the presence of his childhood hero, Sonoda Kumori, to whom he gives the greatest respect. It is clear that Blue Beak would sacrifice his life for Kumori, were it to ensure the success of the mission to regenerate the great Wheel of Life.
Small even for a Halfling, Wikkit learned at an early age that he would have to rely more on his wits than strength. Although raised in a good Halfling family, he had trouble fitting into the hardworking mold expected of him, and disappeared when a circus passed through town. That didn’t work out so well, but it did give him some valuable (and some not so valuable) life lessons and skills, which he used when he returned home. There he served as an apprentice until his feet began itching again, conveniently just as a another caravan passed through.
This second leaving was permanent; he’s spent the years since supporting himself as a rogue, picking up work when needed, gambling and living a life of idle leisure when he can. The skills he gained on the midway have served him well in keeping his purse, and stomach, well-filled.
Most recently, Wikkit found himself sucked into Abu Al Mubarak’s lamp where he spent altogether too much time in the Impossible Palace. There he met Kumori, and got involved with the Crimson Skies campaign.
Before you stands an older Kaidanese man, his deeply wrinkled, tan skin with salt and pepper hair making him appear older than his actual age of 50. His beard and hair blow freely in the wind. He stands a shade over 6 foot tall, his stance belying resolve. He moves with an easy grace. His gaze never seems to focus, instead his eyes appear to always be looking through the skein of the world around him.
His wiry frame is hidden by bulky clothes. The clothes look to be in poor shape; slightly worn and stained, but a keen eye will notice they have been perfectly tailored and made of durable, well woven cloth. He wears a sealskin backpack, a light crossbow, a dagger on his belt, and carries a wooden walking pole.
A few things seem out of the ordinary, a finely wrought brass ring on his left index finger. A bronze ring etched with blowing wheat on his left ring finger. Upon his brow is a black headband that appears to have been crafted with crow feathers. Occasionally, red leather bracers decorated with oni can be seen upon his forearms.
